I love to observe people and situations. Being a very visual person, photography is both a gift and a tool for me. It helps me to capture precious moments and let them live on.
Since I am very curious, I am especially engaged in photo reportage. This has allowed me insights into areas that otherwise remain closed to the public, like industrial production sites or backstage at concerts.
I feel very lucky to have had the chance of learning the craft of photography back in the analogue days. Where you meter the lights, set ISO speed, shutter and aperture all manually. What an adventure to process your films in the darkroom yourself. Counting the days for your slides to arrive by post. I used to work mostly with slide film, because there is no possibility of image correction in the development process.
The digital age
Today I am combining the experience of over 35 years of both analogue and digital techniques. Using the latest camera equipment and software tools allow for an advanced and efficient workflow. Selecting and editing the perfect pictures is an important step in my work.
Nikon’s brandnew mirrorless «Z» camera system not only brings image quality to a whole new level. It also allows to take pictures absolutely silently. No sound, no click. That gives me so much more freedom to work and allows shots you couldn’t capture otherwise. Perfect to shoot during classical concerts, theatre plays, recordings etc. without disturbing anyone.
Looking forward to get to know you.
